BOONE COUNTY EVENTS

Boone County Spring Clean-Up

Properly dispose of unwanted household items for free at the Boone County Spring Cleanup being held April 18 – April 21 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. There are two sites: 3275 Maplewood Dr. in Burlington and 10165 Old Union Road in Union. Liquid waste, hazardous waste, paint, dirt and concrete will not be accepted. This event is for Boone County residents only, no businesses will be permitted to drop off waste.

Boone County Monthly Cleanups

Boone County also has monthly events from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. starting in May at 3275 Maplewood Dr. in Burlington. Liquid waste, hazardous waste, paint, dirt and concrete will not be accepted. This event is for Boone County residents only, no businesses will be permitted to drop off waste. Download the event flyer for the specific dates.

Great American Cleanup in Boone County

Join Boone County for the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, April 28. This event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the Rabbit Hash General Store. Lunch, drinks and a free t-shirt will be provided to all volunteers.

CAMPBELL COUNTY EVENTS

Campbell County Spring Clean-Up

The Campbell County Spring Cleanup will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on April 13 and April 14. This free event is for Campbell County residents only (must present a valid government issued photo ID), no businesses will be permitted to drop off items or waste. Participants are required to unload their own vehicle and dumping directly from a dump truck is not permitted. Items that will be collected at the following locations include:
  • Pendery Park – furniture/mattresses, trash/debris
  • Campbell County Police Department – furniture/mattresses, trash/debris
  • Campbell County Transportation Center – appliances, car batteries, electronics (no TVs), furniture/mattresses, propane tanks (up to 20 lbs.), scrap metal, tires (rims are OK), trash/debris
Liquids/paints, hazardous waste, televisions and CRT monitors will not be accepted at any location. If you plan to bring more than 4 tires, please call the number listed below prior to the event and leave a message with your name, phone number and address.

Campbell County Shred Day

Campbell County will host a shred day on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Headquarters. This free event provides Campbell County residents the opportunity to have their personal documents shredded in a safe and secure manner. There is a five box limit per vehicle.

The Cold Spring Police Department will also be on site collecting prescription drugs to be properly disposed. No liquids, vitamins, syringes or other medical equipment will be accepted.

Campbell County River Sweep

Campbell County and the Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service will host a River Sweep volunteer event on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. until noon at Pendery Park. Come out and help clean the Ohio River!

KENTON COUNTY EVENTS

Kenton County Spring Cleanup

Properly dispose of unwanted household items for free at the Kenton County Spring Cleanup being held April 5 – April 7 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The three sites’ operating times and accepted items are listed below:

Kenton County Public Works (420 Independence Station Road)
Thursday-Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Accepted Items: Garbage, yard waste, appliances and tires (4)
Note – The first four tires are free, additional tires are $3.00 per tire.

Piner Elementary (2845 Piner Ridge Road)
Thursday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Accepted Items: Garbage and yard waste only

Ryland Heights City Building (10145 Decoursey Pike)
Thursday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Accepted Items: Garbage and yard waste only

Hazardous materials and waste will not be accepted at any location. Please bring help to unload your vehicle as the locations are not always staffed to provide assistance.

Kenton County Monthly Cleanups

Kenton County Solid Waste Management hosts free monthly cleanups generally the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Lincoln Ridge Park, 420 Independence Station Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Unwanted appliances, trash, tires and other junk is accepted. The first four car tires are free, additional tires are $3.00 per tire. Hazardous materials and paint will not be accepted.
