Summer 2017 Events

Waste Tire Collection Events

Get rid of your tires for free this summer at your county’s waste tire collection event. In cooperation with the Cabinet for Energy and Environment, Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties will each host a collection event for tires. County residents may bring an unlimited number of tires to the specific locations listed below.

Tires on and off rims will be accepted. Tire retailers, tire dealers, junk yards and garages are prohibited from participating. The following items will also not be accepted: foam filled tires, off-road construction and equipment tires, solid tires with pressed-on rims or tires larger than tractor size, tires with a bead greater than 1 ¾ inches and no tracks, sheet rubber, solid, calcium or fill tires.

Campbell County
Date: August 10, 11 and 12
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursday and Friday); 8 a.m. to noon (Saturday)
Location: State Highway Facility – 1175 Racetrack Rd. Alexandra, KY 41001

Boone County
Date: August 17, 18 and 19
Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursday and Friday); 8 a.m. to noon (Saturday)
Location: Boone County Public Works Yard – 5645 Idlewild Rd. Burlington, KY 41005 or Bavarian Landfill – 12764 McCoys Fork Rd. Walton, KY 41094

Kenton County
Date: August 24, 25 and 26

Household Waste Collection Event

SAVE THE DATE – Saturday, November 4

Residents of Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties can drop off select household hazardous waste items on Saturday, November 4 at UC Health Stadium, “Home of the Florence Freedom,” in Florence, KY. Check back this fall for more details regarding this event!
